Pedaling Parsons & Moses

K

The Pedaling Pardons 2011 Tour was blessed by the prayer of a special guest that God sent to us today. Moses and his family came to Grace UMC today by way of a detour sign on the road. But it was not a coincidence or accident. It was providence that this family who just moved to the area came Grace on the day the Pedaling Pardons were starting our tour from there. Moses is a gradute of Africa University in Zimbabwe. We raised $66,000 back in 1995 to endow a scholarship at that very school. God sent Moses to us today to say "thank you" and to pray for God's blessing on the group. Praise God for these unexpected blessings.

Last Saturday our pedaling missionaries to Camphor Mission in Liberia came to ride with us in Mansfield. They told us about the mission station. Danny is an E.R. doctor in Cleveland and works in the clinic at Camphor many months of the year. The mission has the clinic, a boarding school for kids k-8, and has an agricultural program for students and nearby villages, as well as a church. Many of us are really excited about going there in February of 2013 to experience Camphor Mission up close and personal. This year the Pedaling Parsons are raising money for this mission station. Our next ride is June 4th. We will meet at 9:00 AM at Orrville Trinity UMC for breakfast then drive to the Holms County Trail for a 34 mile ride. E-mail me at don@northcantongrace.org or call 330-499-2330 to register or get more info.

This year we will observe Good Friday (April 22) by carrying this 425 pound 14 foot by 6 1/2 foot cross from my home at Legacy Farm to the church, where it will be installed in the Family Life Center. It will take 14 hours and at least 140 people working in teams of ten, each carrying one mile for an hour. There was a great article in April 2nd issue of the Akron Beacon Journal. Go to :http://www.ohio.com/news/first/119109474.html So far we have 151 people signed up to take a shift. But there is still room for anyone to help carry or just walk along for a mile or two. Just call the church 330-499-2330 or e-mail don@northcantongrace.org by April 15 to be part of this epic worship event.
