Prayer Request & Update on Frank Stephans

Thank you for your prayers for Frank Stephans who is battling cancer. Here is an update from his wife Barb:

Everyone,Thanks for your prayers, cards & etc. Since last Saturday we have improved quite a bit. Last Saturday we called all the kids in because we thought we would loose him. Today the outlook is much better. The main problem is the breathing. He developed a BIG problem last Saturday and his pulmonary dr prescribed a bi-pac machine which helps him to breathe. He is on this machine for 2 hours 3 times a day plus all night. It has helped tremendously. While on this machine he can't talk to people - so visiting is difficult. He had a chest x-rays on Thurs. and the doctor has told him that the tumors have NOT gotten any larger than the last x-ray (which was 5 days prior and we were told they were growing rapidly at that time) and the fluid is not building at this point. Dr. Packer confirmed that with me today. He had his 5th chemo pill today and so far he hasn't had any nausea. THAT IS A PRAISE! These pills (Sutent) cost $252.00 each and are used to treat advanced renal cell carcinoma. We pray they work! The onocologist tells me they have persons who have had stage 4 cancer and are still living 3 years after this treatment. WE HAVE TO KEEP THE FAITH!Sorry I haven't updated sooner but I was at the hospital 24/7 for over a week and when I did get home it wasn't long - just time to take a shower and return.Keep praying!BarbHis spirits continue to be good and he jokes quite often. My sister Ann showed him the pills that she takes everyday (she is a heart patient) and he asked if she was taking viagra. To clear up any doubt - no she isn't.Again thanks for your concern for us and keep the prayers coming as we have a long way to go.
