One-Day Invitational Events
May 22 "Reservoir Roundabout" Wallborne Reservoir to Lake Milton -39 Mi.*
June 12"Legacy Farm & New Baltimore Ice Cream" 38 Mi.*
June 26 "Ohio Erie Towpath" Massillon to Akron and back. -45 Mi.*
September 11 "Cuyahoga Valley Trail" Penninsula to Rockside Rd -45 Mi*

*Support vehicles will be available for those who want to do a shorter distance.

These rides are designed to open the group and the mission up to those who are not ready to commit to a five day tour. They would look like this:

8:00 AM- Gather at Grace UMC for breakfast (Those traveling some distance could come Friday night and camp in the church)
8:45 AM- Devotions
9:00 AM- Depart for the ride of the day (Less than 50 miles with stops.)
12:00 PM- Lunch on the rout.
3-4 PM- Return to Grace for showers.
5:00 PM- Dinner and program at Grace

Cost: $10 registration plus each rider must get pledges just like on the other tours.


July Ride-July 12-16 - Erie Canal/Bike Rout 5 (Road and or Trail Ride) Riders can ride the trail or the road or a combination. Ideal for hybrids. Okay to bring two bikes.

Cost: $130 registration for food and transportation plus pledges for the mission project.

Mission: Fund the construction of a dormitory at our UM Camphor Mission Station in Liberia. We hope to take a UMVIM and Pedaling Parson team there in 2012. This fits with Bishop Hopkins 3C initiative to develop Churches, Clinics, and Classrooms.

Goal: $30, 000

Update from past tours:

We sent money for our first scholarship of $1,350 for a pastor to attend Union Theological
Seminary in the Philippines. The fund balance is $27,543. We will provide a scholarship every year.

Last year we raised about $23,000 for East Ohio Community Centers. So far $16,549.07 has been received by the conference treasurer. That money will be dispersed in May after most of it has been turned in. Please make sure your church has sent the money to the conference treasurer marked "Pedaling Parsons 2009 EOUM Community Centers"
